We will have support parents that have taken the journey through NICU/ SCN and experienced the highs and lows. These support parents can assist other parents by taking them out for a coffee, providing them with personal support by sharing their experiences and just listening to the parent as they share their story. Our aim is to have support parents in many regions across the state incase parents have been transferred to John Hunter Hospital to have their Little Wonder, although this is not up and running as yet, this is our goal. By speaking with someone that has travelled the roller coaster previously parents feel they are not alone and are calmed by the support that they receive. Parents being able to see a premature baby or baby that was sick when born, that has now grown up gives them reassurance and helps them to handle the current situation they are in a more calmly, in most cases.
We hope to have this service up and running Mid 2008. Please feel free to subscribe for our newsletter at any time to be updated on the Little Wonders News, Events, Stories and new services.
